Information for Carers

Caladenia's Day Centre provides a range of services for Carers of people with any type of dementia.

Carers use the day programs as respite. That means some time to relax, shop, or do something for yourself, knowing that your relative is well cared for by the Day Centre staff.

Caladenia is affiliated with Alzheimer's Australia Vic, as well as with Carers Victoria. Part of our commitment to caring for people with dementia is to provide support and education to the carers of these people.

Caladenia hosts regular Carer Support Meetings. These meetings take place once a month, on a Thursday Morning - 10am to 12pm (unless going out to lunch).

Some of the meetings feature a guest speaker or educational video. Other meetings are reserved for you to have "Your Say".

The meetings are a great opportunity to meet other people who are living with similar experiences. These informal gatherings give us the chance to ask questions, tell stories and to get advice from others. Sometimes it is just nice to know you are not alone and that others share the same frustrations, concerns and problems as yourself.

The Carer support meetings are open to all carers, whether you have a relative attending the Day Centre or not. Please feel free to come along and meet others for a cuppa, a chat and a chance to perhaps share your experiences with others.

If you have any queries, please give us a call on 9727 2222, or email us at caladenia@caladenia.com.au
